November is National Adoption Month and over 29,000 teenagers sit in foster homes believing no one cares and guess what, they are right. OK, they don't care enough. How much is enough? Enough to set aside your own life's ambitions and do something absolutely crazy. Adopt a teenager. That is how much. Nothing else will do, not your money or a visit at Christmas. Not an expensive present, not a lovely letter. These things are OK and thank God people do those acts but after being moved from home to home and everyone that ever helped them was getting paid it is hard to believe in love. The Beatles believed in love but foster teenagers don't. It is too painful for them.
If you have been in this business for any length of time, most likely you have gone through some stages of growth. Businesses have a life of their own. They start small and grow up like kids do. Have you ever read your horoscope and it was right on the money? You wonder “How is that so?”

It has allowed us to experiment, learn, enjoy the company of over 500 people and move the class to over six sites in the seven years we have been offering “Up Your Voltage (UYV)”. Not many. Do you need one to be successful? Let’s define success. That is worthy of a few sentences. Webster defines success as: “Favorable accomplishment or prosperity”. The successful techs I know won’t say they are successful; most are modest about their achievements. Most feel prosperity hasn’t been reached yet. Are you successful? Read more......
n May of 2013 ACDC was learning more about the Nissan Leaf as we bought a used 2011 with about 4k miles to use in class. This was new for all of us and 16 lucky Dutchmen had the first crack at it. It took a little getting used to as everyone wanted to see “what it would do”.
Darcy (My Sister and Editor) and I have just finished the 2013 Edition of the ACDC “Understanding HEV and EV Service and Technology” book. 360 pages and 6 months of work. I have the only copy on my desk and “Up Your Voltage! 32″ starts today, May1.
Losing someone ... I wrote this in 2008 and looked it up recently to maybe re-use it for a class. It was worth re-reading for me and I hope you as well.
